This is a Code \ Black Operation

and we need your help.

Did you know?

ONLY 9% OF THE STEM WORKFORCE IS BLACK.

Since 2016, the number of black students earning STEM degrees and entering the industry has not changed. Discrimination, bias, and lack of academic resources play a key role in why less than 10% of those entering STEM, pursue jobs in science, tech, engineering or math.

Our initiative, CODE \ BLACK was launched to be that key resource and support kids’ success through to college & beyond.

This year we need your help to provide 1,000 students with stem resources.

With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting after-school programs, summer camps, and extracurricular activities, it’s most imperative that we continue to provide virtual resources for children in the greater Atlanta area to explore STEM opportunities and careers while at home or locally in their neighborhood.

In response, we’ve launched our Code \ Black initiative to support the development of Mobile Learning Labs for IF Academy to bring to students across the city - rather than wait for them to return to school.

Why Mobile Learning Labs?

Mobile Learning Labs provide accessibility for students, and will help further bridge the digital divide. As most children in impoverished zip codes don’t have access to computers or smart devices, virtual learning is nearly impossible. By equipping each Mobile Lab with the proper software and technology, we’ll be able to better prepare K-12 students who are interested in pursuing STEM careers.
